EXCLUSIVE: Oscar’s house sold for R4,5 million

The house in which Oscar Pistorius killed his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, has been sold to a Boksburg mining consultant for R4,5 million.

The four-bedroom house at Silverwoods Country Estate in Pretoria was bought by Louwtjie Louwrens who apparently intends to rent it out.

If earlier reports are anything to go buy Louwtjie got a bargain. During his bail hearing in February last year Oscar said the house was worth R5 million.

In March this year Oscar’s estate agent told AFP the house would be sold in a closed bid starting at R5 million. In a closed bidding process prospective buyers can’t view the house beforehand. They’re provided with a set of plans, make an offer and pay a refundable deposit.

The house is reported to be 700 m², which means Louwtjie paid about R6 428/m². Other houses for sale at the same estate are being advertised for between R7 000 and R8 800/m².
