Butterflied chickens are readily available in various marinades. Check the expiry date when buying chicken.
Cooking time: 40-60 min
1 large marinated whole butterflied chicken
Cook the chicken over medium-hot coals until done. A covered kettle braai works well or cover the chicken with heavy-duty aluminium foil or a large lid to create an “oven”.
If the chicken is not cooked through put it in an oven preheated to 180 °C until done.
Cut the chicken into pieces and serve with a salad.

Regularly baste the chicken with the marinade to flavour it and keep it moist.
